Q: You starting making songs because you wanted to help out the team.
A: When we were receiving vocal lessons, the teacher recorded the music and played it. I find it interesting that we can make songs using a computer program. So I unknowingly bought a laptop, downloaded the program, and started to follow. When I click the piano icon, music came out. When I click the drum icon, the beats came out, I find it very interesting and was surprised.

Q: So you self learnt.
A: That's right. Even right now, I still find it a pity that I was unable to learn piano properly when I was younger. I used the guitar to write songs a lot but we can only record the song. I would have to transfer the melody to the computer manually. As the melody would automatically transfer if it is a piano melody, it saves a lot of time.

Q: It is still not too late now.
A: People around me stopped me. Even it is good to learn piano, but the reason why my music is special is because I don't receive lessons for it. Even with that, rather than machine sounds, I like acoustic sounds a lot, and because of that, we recorded Sweet Girl with an 18 piece band. The drums, bass, brass are all real sounds.

Q: Seems like you want to achieve a lot. You are called "Tiger producer" among your members.
A: I don't like to compromise. I don't let even the members listen to an incomplete song. Even though it is not a solo song, it is a B1A4 song and I should accept their opinions totally, but if it is imcomplete, I would not want to show it to them. Our first album, I did mixing for "Baby I'm sorry" 7 times. Because it was my first so I wavered a lot. When we had "Wonderful Tonight", I wanted to make it slightly more upbeat so it is a pity. In the end we did an acoustic version of it in the next album. Now that I see it, it shouldn't have been this way.

Q: When I read articles, the feelings of a youth are also pretty different
A: I like the word "memories" a lot. I like perfumes.I get a lot of inspiration from something that gives me a very clear impression of my memory. "When the cherry blossom fades" is a song I wrote as I watch how a young person who is dreaming and hates breaking up and finds it a pity. It is a song that doesn't sound weird whether a male or a female sings it.

Q: You find contradicting music fun?
A: I like reversals. Usually from chorus onwards, I dislike something that goes like the normal, so I experiment a lot. I add sad lyrics to fast songs. I will slow down songs that seems like it will go faster.

Q: There are also times your songs sounds alike.
A: Since B1A4 will not be changing our styles with a click of the fingers, I find that it is reasonable. There are also parts where Oh My Girl and IOI songs are similar. I agree that I will need to widen my musicality. Recently, I am stuck with future bass so I am learning DJ-ing. I want to be able to take on more genres.

On the reason why he did acting too, Jinyoung replied "Music and acting are just different ways of expressing, the nature are the same." When doing music, there is melody instead of script. When acting, since there isn't melody, I would have to put in more emotions into the script. Originally, I don't have any plans on participating in the OST for Love in the Moonlight. However, as I got immersed in my character, I felt emotions that I have never felt before, so I ended up making a song. This was how "Foggy Road" sang by Ben came about.

Jinyoung also added "While filming for the show, I introduced a song writing program to Bogum and his sense in making melodies are good. If he were to release an album, I will want to give him a song as a present." He also added "In the album, even if we put in our own colours, the songs are not tiring so it is more comfortable to listen to."
