Fans already know about it but during his student days, he had capability of sweeping through all music festivals. After debut, he also gained recognition for his wide vocal range and his rich emotions. On MBC King of Masked Singer, he appeared as Silky Flowerly Fowl with powerful voice and thick emotions, bringing him to the semi finals. winning Duet Song Festival's first King of the kings also imprinted his presence.

In addition, he started working on musical like "Brothers were Brave" in 2012, he also did various musical like "The thousandth man", "Cinderella", "The Three Musketeers", "Around thirties", "Iron Mask" etc, solidifying his grounds as a musical actor.

"I debut in a musical in 2012. As I was doing it my eyes were diverted. Before that, I used to think that it is important for the melody to be beautiful and the pronounciation to be perfect. However, when I did musical, I found out that it is really a fun song when my audiences knows what I am singing about. So now, I feel that as a singer, my first condition has to be delivery, comfort and sympathy. As I did musical for 6-7 years now, I learn something new everytime. I want to continue doing musical. I want to work hard to that I can run in a parallel line as a singer and in musical, and I want to become someone who can do good music.

Sandeul is also the DJ for MBC Standard FM "Sandeul Starry Night". His unique cheerful energy and speech continues to attract people.

"Starry Night" has given me lots of energy recently. Actually, up till now, I haven;t got any chance to talk so much to people. However, I talk to a huge crowd of people whom faces I dont know on "Starry Night". As I do it, I became very used to talking. When I did a performance, I asked one of my friend who had done a solo concert before. "I was nervous and scarerd, what are you most worried about?" The friend replied, "Are you not nervous about leading your performance and making your performance fun?" I am weird. I am not worried about that. Compared to that, I am more scared about something I haven't done before, singing more than 20 songs and leading it."

Musically wise, Sandeul had an experience which he couldn't forget. He participated in Song Camp which happened in Berlin, Germany, past April, collaborating with North Europe song writers, he made the song "This love".

"Song camp was a romance. After shooting for my album jacket and music video, I heard that there was a Song Camp so I ended up going for it. At first i imagined it as a camp with a bonfire and playing  music on an acoustic guitar. However, they made it at a studio in a zone at an abandoned airport in the center of Berlin. It was a system whereby you go into each room and have a collaboration with the writers inside. Three of us sat in a small room side by side and talked in English. Because I am not good in English, I only greeted. Will asked what kind of music did I wanted to make, so I replied him, I wanted to sing with a relaxed voice and played him so reference. That friend suddenly just played something and it was really good. From there, we built the melody. As we couldn't communicate well, we made it using our own ways. Basically, as these friends are people who lived in Europe, so the song has a European style pop feeling to it."

He revealed an episode which we couldn't laugh at while he was preparing his album.

"I worked really hard on my diet. I ate salad for all my three meals. Lethargy was really scary. I didn't wanted to do anything. My body was tired and I had to sing, but the song couldn't come out. I had no idea how to sing the song. I was having a meltdown. Originally I wanted to diet for a month but I started eating after 2 weeks. When my weight came back up, my song came back too."

Last year, a heart wrenching incident happened for the fans. B1A4 was not able to win over the "7 year jinx" and did not renew their contract. B1A4's Jinyoung and Baro concluded their contract with WM Entertainment, leaving CNU Sandeul Gongchan to go on with promotions as the full team with no choice. Additionally, CNU was called up for his active soldier duty, now B1A4 are concentrating on their individual activities.

As B1A4 was a team which received lots of love in Korea and overseas, this gave the fans a lot of sorrows. However, who can be more trouble and sad compared to those involved? Sandeul disclosed that fell into a slump that he couldn't even imagine.

"This album's last song, "It's okay" was written when I was the most not okay. The team had problems, problems that I thought would never happened on us did so I was not okay. However, from one point onwards, I suddenly start to feel better. It was around the time when I was coming out of the slump I wrote, "It's okay". It was really complexed in my mind but I arranged it one by one. Now I am very okay. I was thinking if a good song would come out from my the curve in my life. From then onwards, I started working on this album. The three of us were actually working on B1A4's album but CNU had to go to the army, so we postponed B1A4's album and geared up for my solo album. Actually, I didn't had the desire to want to release a solo album. I really liked the time which I spent promoting with my members and wanted to continue doing it but somehow the situation made it like this.

Nevertheless, Sandeul's solo comeback consists of the members' assuring support as always. CNU gave his song "Slanted line" as a gift and Gongchan sang a duet in "Love, Always you".

"Whenever CNU hyung makes a song, he will always ask me to help with the guide, but when I heard the introduction of this song, I immediately asked him to give me this song. I have been with hyung for about 10 years and this song is really him. The way it kept saying no no no persistenly was really like him. However, when the song was finished, the feeling was differently. There are a lot of people who felt it was a pity that the input was wrong but I spoke about it to them personally and talked it out. "Love, always you" is a duet with Gongchan and that I dreamt about and put my ambitious into. I hope that after listening to this song, there will be many people who will come and tell me that they hope to hear more of this collaboration. If there are many more people who look forward to this, I thought maybe that both of us could even release a duet album. I dont know about Gongchan. I don't know about my best frined but I take it that Gongchan likes singing with me?"

Sandeul will be releasing his 2nd solo album "A Fine Day" on 3rd Jun at 6pm. In addition to that, he will also be having his solo concert on 29th and 30th Jun at Seoul Yongsan-gu Blue Square Marker Hall.

"I am nervous and at the same time very looking forward. There are a lot of burdens. I am full of desires to want to do well for my first solo concert. I went around asking for advices but because I am greedy to have a solo concert, there were many people saying my concert hall was pathetic. I overpaced so much during my first solo album promotions that I had to be hospitalised. Therefore, if I wanted to prepare with a comfortable mind to give a good account of myself. I basically don't believe in myself. I already know that I will get excited on stage, so I will do various stimulation so that I have mind control. I think I will get worked up the moment I sing the first song. I might even cry at my first song. That's why I am very scared. This time round because of a fan event I tried to do ticketing personally and it was sold out, from then on I already almost cried.Actually when B1A4 had our first concert, I didn't had much experiences, I was short-sighted and was in a daze, when I finally released my stress, I cried. Nowadays its different. The lights which we couldn't see last time can now be seen. So I think I will really cry. I am very scared of that. I will need to be really careful.

It was revealed that Sandeul will be coming back with his 2nd Solo album on 3rd Jun titled "A Fine Day". There are a total of 6 songs starting from the title of this album is "A Fine Day" which they went to Berlin for, a song made on song camp, "This Love", the song which CNU made "Slalnted line", Din Din's present "The sound of rain", a duet with Gongchan "Love, Always you" and the song "It's okay" which is the heart of this album.

"I think the biggest mold of this is to bring comfort and healing. When I was young, my second auntie was someone who was drenched in sorrows, but when she turned on the radio, she became happy. At the point, I promised my auntie, "I want to be a singer so that I can bring smiles to you." Even though afterwards as I became a singer, things kept changing but I kept thinking of wanting to do songs that can bring comfort and healing. Through my solo album, I was able to express a little of that. The first song that was being fixed for the album was "It's okay". "It's okay" was a song which was written when I was most not okay. When I was a little more okay, I would othink, "people always think of me as someone who is cheerful, but I constantly am not okay. If this is the case for me, then won't other people be feeling not okay too?" So it became the heart of my album. Using this song as the base, I also added in songs that give comfort using other feelings." 

The title song was a song made for Sandeul by Yoon Jong Shin, it talks about the radiant memories of a gone love which has changed dusting off from a shining bright sky. A splendid sound with Sandeul's special cheerful vocals in this sad song can be seen in this 5 mins that song runs in.

"I have received healing from Senior Yoon Jongshin's songs many times. Through the company, I carefully requested from him. I know that senior doesn't give out songs easily so I didn't know that he would do it for me. Even though it was a little scary but he agreed immediately to give a song for me, I was very happy. He gave a "cheerfully sad song" I think it will give healing to those who are experience farewells. I do not have the courage to ask why did he gave me the song so I do not know the reason. I was wondering if it was under the influence of MBC Radio Star. At that time I sang the song "Drinking" as my first live and I wondered if it was then he became aware that there is such a singer called Sandeul".

Yoon Jongshin sings great praises of Sandeul as a "superb singer". However, even with that, he revealed that he felt lots of pressure and stress as he wrote the song this time round.

"I think senior would probably felt stressed because we told him that it will be the title song. For that, he put in a lot of efforts to write this song and is happy with the results. I wanted to try something epic like Senior Park Hyoshin's Wild flower and he write it like that for me. He passed over all the burdens to me. He said that the song is very good and asked me to practice hard. Because of that, I also took the burden and worked hard in order to do well for the song. I am very thankful that he praised me as a superb singer. Thanks to his good words, I gained lots of courage."

Sandeul said to not give expectation for this album and just work hard. Reason being the higher the expectation, the bigger the dissappointment will be. He hoped that his solo album can be a stepping stone for his future music career and may it be a fertiliser for it.

"If I expect one time, then I will overpace. My sister who usually is stingy towards my songs and evalutes it also said that it is good and asked if it would go big, making my expectations bigger. So I thought of sad things in order for me to catch the emotion. I feel that this album is an album that shows me constantly growing up. Be it my solo album, Chandeul duet album, or even B1A4 album. I hope it can be a stepping stone for my singing career.
