Face of Baro, Words of Sunwoo

Looks like a face from when we were young, seems like a facial expression I have seen before somewhere, and words that I might have said before. When I look at Baro, such thoughts come to my mind. The next day after B!A4 concert ended, sinking down into the sofa, the guy said "You called me by Sunwoo just now right? I like hearing it" and smiled from his eyes.

Q: You ended your concert yesterday?
A: It really felt like we ended. The rest must have felt that it is a pity, I feel great.

Q: Compared to normal idols, it is very small scale.
A: We also had such small scale concerts before too. Because it was unforgettable so we did this. It was really good to be able to see the audiences facial expressions. This feels completely like a marsh.

Q: Is it really till such an extend?
A: The more we do, the more we want to do it. Yesterday in my ending comment, I said that I want to stand on the stage even if I grow up to be a grandfather. It just became like that. For me, when I like something, I want to see it till the end. Even things like that (put a straw through the yoghurt drink), one is not enough, I have to drink two, or even three.

Q: I guess your personality is being thorough at something that you want rather than being gentle.
A: You are right. That is why I speak discuss a lot with the members. Because I want to be able to constantly be having fun without being obsessive. 

Q: Something like "let's try to do it once again properly!" Right?

A: That is right. That is because my four members are blood type A. I am blood type B. Down in my heart, I want to hit the USA billboard charts and all, but I think I will end up refraining to mention this to the members when we talk. Just be like now, constantly going without being sick, and work hard, like this. During training, I was the only one who was different. Why do I have to do this? So I get into trouble, but every time when it happens, we talk to each other to solve it. There really isn't once when we fought.

Q: Well, if you fight, you fight. However, as I look at you this close up, you feel like someone I know. 
A: My mom also said that. She said that I go well with something countrified. I heard a lot saying that I suit a period film.

Q: Have you thought of things like "How is my face like?"
A: It is very normal, it is not very statue-like or very good looking.

Q: When you were young, do you have thoughts like "With this face I can do anything".

A: Ohh I really don't have. I just wanted to be an actor. It is not because I know what my charms are but because I really want to act. I want music to be my hobby, and I wanted to try out acting for real. My mother told me that if I want to major in Theatre and films, then my grades will need to be very good. So there was this period when I studied really hard. (laughs) 

Q: However, the entertainment company's phone call came first?
A: I came up to Seoul when I was in high school year 1. My friend is really good looking. He was Cyworld today's guy, he auditioned for the company and passed the round, the managing director contacted me after he saw my picture on his cyworld. I followed my friend without knowing anything, and suddenly it started.

Q: Are you on the side of believing yourself?
A: Not at all. I find it very interesting too. At that point of time, I think I weighed this and that, asked around here and there, and I thought it was like an opportunity. I did what I was told to, train, receive lessons, it was fun, and as that happened, time just went by like this.

Q: The "time" you talked about, was it long?
A: I am 25 this year, at that time I was 18. It feels like a long time ago. I got reminded of the practice room all the way down in the basement.

Q: All the way down in the basement? 
A: (laughs) It's not even half a basement, its more than that. We have to go all the way down to the end of the stairways. It was around Sadang station, there isn't any washroom so we had to use the washroom in a very big building called Pastel city. One that I was coming back from the building and it rained heavily. I didn't even have umbrella with me. So I wore the plastic bags that is meant for the umbrellas on my arms and ran.

Q: Huh? Why did you do that?

A: I have no idea why I did that too. Now that I think back, it is funny, I guess I didn't like my arms to be wet. So I wore that on my arms and ran. I thought I did just almost anything.

Q: If there is a graph for your life, where would you be currently at now?
A: I worked hard and debuted, so no matter how I see it, I fulfilled my dreams. Right now, my popularity dropped a little, I am preparing for it to go upwards again.

Q: Do you feel those rhythm everyday?
A: Yes I feel it. For us, we have to always outwardly express ourselves for other people. It cannot be helped. Be it emotions or thoughts, we need time to gather the experiences, in the end, the difference is in whether we like it, whether we find it fun or do we find it stressful. Thankfully, I have not received stressed from it before. be it needing a holiday or taking a break, I haven't got such feelings before. I think I am thankful for that.

Q: In the end, it boils down to confidence isn't it?
A: It may sound funny but I am one who believes in myself. Because I know myself more than anyone else, just with that I think I can do everything.

Q: What do you think are your weaknesses?
A: I think the worry of the future as I grow older and older and have to go to the army soon? I think those thoughts make me weak. Ah, what should I do? Every time when it happens, I will think about it again. Right now, if I am enjoying the things that I am doing, the people around me will not leave and will stay by my side always. That includes my family too. Because I am the eldest son.

Q: It feels a little heavy. Earlier when we were shooting, I noticed that your left profile is more good looking.
A: Ah, yes. For it, it definitely is the left side. That I know.

Q: What else do you know?

A: It feels a little embarrassing to say it with my own mouth.

Q: Try saying it.
A: Fans like my eyes. I also like...

Q: Your face turned red after saying it?

A: Can you just point out the charm you think I have? I don't think I can say it out with my own mouth.

Q: You eyes droop a little.
A: That is right. It droops a little at the end. It looks a little pitiful? So my mother told me this, that my eyes will talk. I might just be staring without any thoughts but I look like I have something to say.

Q: Now that I see it, it really is like that. Just now we wanted to see your crying face and told you to cry, and you immediately did so. Have you cried recently?
A: I cried buckets yesterday.

Q: Oh really?
A: I cried buckets. Since it was the last day of the concert so I was very touched. When we first started, members and I all stayed in the dorm but now we all live separately. Even though we see each other often, but because there are still things that I can't convey, so I wrote a letter. As I read the things that I want to say to my members and my parents, I started to tear up.

Q: B1A4's Baro, as well as 26 years old guy Cha Sunwoo, where do you think you are heading now?
A: When the year first started, I got into a dilemma. I was very happy when last year's new year came but strangely, I got worried when this year's new year came. "I have been working hard, and if I continue to work hard, what will come my way?" As I thought of thoughts like this, I started to not want to work. It is good to work hard, there will be things to gain, I am doing it because I want to do it. Even with that, it was really subtle. I kept thinking about it on my own for a few days. Soon I will go into the army, after I come up from the army I will work again, and I will age. What will I be doing? I have a goal but am I working towards it? It doesn't seems like it and I thought about all kinds of things. It might be because it is the new year, after some time has passed I asked myself why am I thinking about such things? I am happy and having fun. I want to travel. I really like travelling but I have yet to travel like a holiday.

Q: When you say a holiday like travel, are you referring to you yourself going anywhere?
A: Yes. I feel that that is the real travelling. Like trying to find something. I want to go to Spain.

Q: What do you want to look for when you head there?
A: Firstly, because I like soccer a lot, and I am a huge fan of Barcelona, so I have to watch their match personally.

Q: By the way, who gave you the name Baro?
A: Members gave me the name. Telling me to live right. They gave it to me on an impulse.

Q: How do you like the name now?
A: I am used to the name now so I like it.

Q: How about the name Sunwoo?
A: I like it when I am called by my real name. When you call me by my real name, how should I say it? It feels like opening a door towards the person? Be it Baro or Sunwoo, I will show you various images in the future.

Q: Even if it is not various kinds of images, its okay.
A: Yes. But it is something that I want to do. Ah, I'm hungry.

The weird idols who live next door

It feels like it is natural that they are charting 1st on music charts and music shows with their 3rd full length album "A lie". B1A4 members has received lots of love as expected as they develop in areas like variety shows and drama etc. They are doing a 4 days concert in a small theatre as they end their albums promotions locally, and we met them in the middle of their concert period.

While entering the room that has no members to check the situation before the interview, I met eyes with Sandeul who was sitting down, eating bread with a serene face. A lovely and nice face. Beyond the TV screen, his face is definitely better. Whenever we heard an amusing Gyeongsang-do speech and turn around, Sandeul will be there. It was morning and among the people who couldn't go far from their personal room, Baro proofed that he is the B-type in B1A4 by dancing, singing and mood making from the beginning to the end. When asked out of manners "Do you have other poses you would like to do?", it is the first time I come across someone answering "Yes".  Once he has finished posing to his heart's content, he greeted respectfully "I will end here" and head back to where the members are.

Jinyoung gets more energetic as the day goes by. Like his own face, after he calmly shot for his individual shot, he broke out singing loudly and matched the beat to find back his own condition, during the interview of facebook live, he talks directly like a leader. He feels like someone who has been living earnestly and justly. Shinwoo looks at the members with affable eyes the whole day. In order for the pictures to turn out nice, he did not use much energy and rather than trying to be showy, he gives a feeling that he always has one foot outdoors. Shinwoo is also the one who is most serious in giving his thoughts during the interview. Even though Gongchan is the youngest, but he did the shoot most maturely. When shooting for the full group photo and the rest of the members can't help but joke around, he himself said "mind control!", places his hands in his pockets and gazed at the camera. The places that they like most in Seoul are Mangwon-dong, Seongsan-dong, Yeonnam-dong, like this, there seems to be no other groups like B1A4 who is in the 7th year of debut. Also as and idol who is filled sincerity and good intentions every moment.

Rather than a real hall, you guys did your concert on a small stage. The inspiration seems to be a little different.

JY: There are concerts that are we after. We thought that fans will feel sad if we are too far away, so this concert, we wanted us to be close and have fun together, and it definitely has it charms.

You have mentioned a lot about being thankful for fans. Does the members used to be a fan of someone too?

SD: Senior Kim Yeonwoo. Even though I stay in Busan and was unable to catch his performance regularly, when I listen to songs, I listen and sing along to Senior Kim Yeonwoo's songs the often. 

CNU: I like Senior Wheesung and I have all his albums. Even though I stay in the countryside and can't watch his performance often, whenever he is in the province for events or performances, I will go for them. Because I like him so much, I used to also run after his van when he ends his performance.

B1A4 is called "composing-dols". I know very well about Jinyoung but how different are the styles that each other members are after when writing songs?

BR: Because I like hip-hop, so I write hip-hop and trendy songs as a base. Come one day, I would also like to show everyone music of my own style but I still do not have the chance.

CNU: Why are you so bitter? (laughs)

JY: The chance will come.

CNU: I like African-American music since young, so I use that as a foundation to write songs, actually the music that I want to do is songs that I have not challenged before or a song that can make me discover a different image of the members. This is why in the album, I added in a hip-hop reggae song. It is a charm to do express a genre through the members' voices. I want to try various things.

Rather than conforming to the style of B1A4, it seems more free.

JY: I feel that matching the style is important. I would like to try various genre. I know that fans like my emotional songs since I write them a lot, but in actual fact, I like hip-hop and EDM music too, I also go for a lot of DJ festivals.

Do you go attend and jump a lot?

JY: I jumped a lot! I want to do music not limited by the genre.

This year you would be in your 7th year. Compared to when you debuted, there are a lot of new idol groups that came up isn't it. There are also groups that debuted with you guys who are now gone. Have you guys ever discussed about the directions that B1A4 would like to go in the future?

CNU: Actually, when we first debuted, the burden that we will not get enough love from the public in a short period of time and eventually disappearing was huge. So in the first two years, it is not possible to not have anxiety over getting love from the public. Even though we were lucky, but the trend is gradually changing. Everyone is young and promising. I think it is fit that through these years we are constantly together. The rest of the groups are going like this too. For us, I think we looking at the far future but taking small steps and moving forward.

SD: Please see and call us "multi-talented-idols". Nowadays, a singer has to sing well, dance well as a basic. They also have to act well, do well in musical, shot a movie, do well in variety. An idol has to be everywhere isn't it. For B1A4 who is excelling in each of our own areas, I hope people can say "Will they be more robust in the future". I am thankful that people are calling us "multi-talented-idols". 

BR: Who gave us that name?

SD: Bana

On the opposite, you have also thought about your own live as an individual too right? Are there any difference in the dream that you dreamt 7 years ago?

BR: Time passed by really quickly. We debuted when we will 19, 20 and 21. When we debuted, we didn't think deep into things like "I will have to live a life like this now", now after 6 years, I will think about what have I done when these years that has passed by. There are things that I want to fulfil, I also have a clue of how I want to live my life, but these went unfulfilled as we lived on till now. I think I have to think about how I want to live, not as a B1A4 member, but as myself, from now onwards.

In the remaining years of your 20s, what moments would you like to have the most?

SD: Ah, there really isn't much left.

BR: If we go into the army, it will take up 2 to 3 years...

JY: I want to have a lot of time making memories. Even though being busy with work can also make memories, but I feel that it is important to occasionally have holidays, or make memories of my own too. It would be good if everyone went together, anyways, just not work related. There isn't much memories of us on a holiday. When we enter the 30s, it is the memories of the 30s isn't it? I will find it a pity if we do not have such memories in our 20s.

Have you guys not went on a holiday together before?

All: Not yet.

Does everyone likes travelling?

All: Of course

BR: We three (Baro, Sandeul, Gongchan) went before.

How is everyone's travelling style like?

CNU: I prefer not doing a lot of sightseeing and just resting.

BR: Look up in the map, going here and there. Look for delicious food, all on foot.

Where did you three went?

SD: Bali. I told the members "Let's do shopping, let's challenge these exciting things here." but they didn't wanted to do it. I came to know that there are times like this that we don't really match too. I really like extreme sports a lot so no matter where I go I want to try it.

GC: I just follow the hyungs everywhere. Haha.

BR: He really followed us very well. He followed us everywhere.

SD: Chan also took care of the money isn't it?

BR: No, no, together.

CNU: Gongchan would rest well and do sightseeing well too.

SD: He is a hybrid.

JY: I like seeing beautiful landscapes. A good place like a tall building that allows me to look at the night scape. I like it so much I will find it on purpose. 

In a generation where it is hard to live on just one occupation. If you can choose a 2nd life, what occupation would you want to do?

BR: I have not thought of that...

JY: I want to be a CEO. Manage a company. I think it would be really cool.

BR: Oh, I want to try that too.

GC: The owner of a building. (everyone burst out in laughter)

That's the most mature thinking. Why live an even more tiring life, it is already very tiring now. (laughs)

GC: Hyung (referring to Jinyoung) I am the owner of a building.

CNU: I want to be a CEO that will cultivate new singers, with my own hands, be it group or solo artists.

Do you have such insights?

CNU: I am not sure. When someone comes out, I would analyse it a lot. Previously, when a song comes out, I would simply listen to it and like it, but nowadays, I would think about why the music is good. This is nothing much but I thought wouldn't it be good when someone makes an album and I use this skill. 

BR: I want to live freely...

SD: A vagabond

BR: Not that...

SD: Travel guide

BR: I also thought about being a travel guide, but I like clothes, I like photography, I like a lot of miscellaneous stuffs.

Photography?

BR: Though not professionally taking pictures, but I have lots of interest in that. I want to have that interest.

SD: Shop manager

BR: I think I will do very well as a manager.

GC: Then hyung what would you like to do?

SD: I want to be a property agent. (everyone burst out laughing)

JY: I think he will really do well in that.

Then you would need to sit for papers, license.

SD: I just have to sit for it and get the license. I think I will do crazily well.

GC: Hyung, you get that license, then tell me a good location for the building, I will become the owner of the building, then I will lease the building to (Jinyoung) hyung. Then hyung will become a CEO, Baro will work in that company.

CNU: And I will make groups.

JY: Ohhhh~

SD: I think I will get rip of my real estate commission the moment I get it.

GC: We will go eat spicy beef soup often.

What is the thing you want to do most after this promotions end?

BR: Travelling together.

SD: Holiday holiday.

Producing, singing, dancing, acting and even variety, he naturally accomplishes them all. And we all tend to forget, how many things is he accomplishing. Actually, he said this indifferently "I try my best to accomplish what has been given to me, in that way, I feel that I will not feel betrayed by the results."

10 years later - I have received a lot of questions like "What will you be doing 10 years later?" So I tried and wrote the song "10 years later" painstakingly. I naturally had thoughts like "I really cannot idle my time away, I really need to live to my fullest". I always try not to be faint in my attitude, and always living in mind control, but when I wrote a song like this, it made me emotional.

Male fans - Even though they are not literally "fans", but ever since Produce 101, my popularity increased. When I hear Oh My Girl and IOI fans telling me "Thank you for the good song", "Hyung, I like your song" I feel happy. Of course, because I want to be acknowledge but the same gender too. 

Praises - I think it is a little embarrassing to talk about the things that I have done well last time. However, no matter how stern (with myself) I can be, I still need praises. If I can praise myself, then I can take this confidence and do anything isn't it?

BARO

Baro always looks at the opposite party right into the eye, there is no hesitation to be the one who starts talking first. When I look at him talking about the things he likes excitedly, I can't help but think of the words that is often said, "He really is like a B-type person"

Music - My little sister debuted with the stage name "I". For a solo activities, my sister is the first (among us) to do it. Even though I am not envious, I have desires of wanting to show my own music abilities. Whenever I do a solo stage during concert, the response is good. I find it fun to make my own music and show it.

Shopping - I often good at "choosing" the correct item. I really controlled a lot last year. Last autumn, I didn't even buy anything from my favourite Supreme. Even though it is not possible to stop shopping entirely, but now I buy lesser things. Because I wanted to waste less, I ended up saving lots of money. Haha.

Travel - I still have yet to travel on my own. I really liked the Laos trip I went with "Youth over flowers". I always say even though now we have changed a lot, but Laos hasn't changed much? If I were to go on a tour, Spain would be the 1st. I want to watch FC Barcelona's game with my own eyes.

SANDEUL

Sandeul's skills has clearly positioned himself as a vocalist, from a certain point, you can think that he is very gifted. However, when we get to talk to Sandeul a little, we came to know. The heart Sandeul has which is filled with the emotions and to communicate right now, he simply uses the same heart to sing and deliver.

Age - When I hear juniors telling me they like my song, I feel like I have really become a senior. I feel proud but at the same time I feel weird too. In my heart, I want to be young and immature always, like the forever 5 years old Crayon Shinchan.

Singing - Whenever I go on music programs, I always prepare without sleeping well. Everything is very uncertain. There is no such thing as when you do well for the first time, you will do well for the second time. In anyway, singing is the best thing I can do, even though I cannot be better than those who sing well, but I feel I have to be more hardworking than them. I have two things, firstly, face it. Secondly, work my best for it. When I first came to Seoul from Busan, I was 19 year old. When I think back, I didn't have any fears.

Praise - Firstly, once I start on something, I don't easily give up. When the people around me sees it, they will think that I only work, even with that, I can't stop thinking about it. I want to end the new year with a song. I am really curious how a song that I make and being sang together by the members will sound like.

GONGCHAN

B1A4's maknae is turning 24 this year. (T/n: I think the editor wrote it wrongly?) During the interview, his eyes are always big and shining when he talks fans. Like that is the happiest thing.

Age - Whenever I age a year, I always ask myself "What do I want to learn more, there are things that I will feel". I like that time passes like this. I am basically pretty naive. I can comfortably accept any changes generally. So this year, I also want to try picking up more things.

Hobbies - Recently I have been collecting fan art. I save fan draw art and use it as my SNS profile pictures. At first, I find it very interesting that I have fans. Now, there are fans who have left, but I don't think of it as the end. In reality, there are some who came back, and I know that there are those who are cheering for us from afar. 

Romance - Senior Cha Taehyun got married with the first love his met from his high school isn't it? I find that the prettiest. No matter who, I find it hard to keep things lasting and be together through thick and thin.

CNU

After taking off his specs, Shinwoo said his vision is now 0.8. If there is any habits that remains from when he had bad eyes, it would be that he will knit his forehead and answer the questions one by one sincerely. During filming, as expected, CNU was the member who is very cheerful and was joking around.

Music - In the album this time, the song "Night mare" gets the best response when I let people around me listen to it. I feel that the wall between idol's music and the music the public listens to have crumbled down quite a bit. So I decide to work harder. I want to be able to do and show even better music.

Romance - As I get older, I think deeper about romance and love. There are parts about Shin Dongwoo that people cannot leave out. I also wish for all of my members to be able to have a good relationship. Even if it doesn't go smoothly, it is okay. We might break up, even though we may fight, but I hope that I can have a relationship whereby when we look back, we really loved hard and because of that, we felt that there were no regrets.

Troubles - It is good to have a hobby that I am immersed in when I am not working but I do not have any. I exercise, write songs, I also do things that I like but a part of it still contains work so I don't feel like I am really resting. Even though I am not exactly very positive and generous to myself, but I still love and treasure myself. I find that I am quite an okay person.

Q: It's been a while since you guys released an album. Please simply introduce to us B1A4's 3rd full length album [Good Timing].

A: It is filled with 13 songs all self written and composed. It is an album that gives you a different feel of B1A4 from what we have been doing up to now.

Q: The album this time round is as expected in charged by Jinyoung. What is the point you emphasis about when you write songs?

A: If we were to really choose, because I have been writing songs since debut, as time passes, the genre of music or thoughts that comes up changes naturally and dissolve into the music.

Q: Is there a song that you feel the most attached to for this album?

A: There's this song called "Together". We actually recorded the song with 50 fans whom we selected. It is a song that is meaningful each other.

Q: I can't leave out drama "Love in the Moonlight". It was a production that solidify your position as an actor.

A: At first I was worried and felt burdened. But thanks to the help of the director and scriptwriter, I was able to finish this off well and I feel happy about it. Through this production, I did a lot of monitoring and there are a lot of parts where I can do better and I intend to fix them.

Q: When is a good timing for Jinyoung?

A: I think its "always". Rather than pointing out when is a good timing, I think rather take the time I made a good timing. Even though it might be a little hard to do it, but if gain strength and do it, just by practicing it, wouldn't you be able to create your own good timing?

Q: If there is a chance in the future, what would you like to act as?

A: I want to do romantic comedy. Since I have always been playing one side love, this time round, I want to play a fulfilled love line. And also I want to act in a war movie. It will be a very difficult movie to do. (laughs)

Q: From writing music, singing, and even acting, you are really a multi-talented idol. Are there any more areas which you wish to try out in the future?

A: I generally like challenges. So even if I were to fail, I will still want to try it out for experience. I want to try things like MC, Radio DJ. Even if I can't do it well, at least I tried and have no regrets after.

Q: Is there anything that you hope from the members as a leader?

A: Honestly, because the members are doing very well on their own part, there is nothing much I need to do. So the only thing I want to wish for is to not get sick, stay healthy always and promote together for a long long time.

Q: Please tell us your goals that you wish to fulfil in 2017.

A: Exercise more to make my body more muscular. Also, I want to have a lot of concert and chance to be close to the fans. I hope that you will always support and look forward to us.

SANDEUL

Q: You have been busy promoting your album. How do you feel promoting with your members after a long while?

A: Now that I have promoted alone, I want to hurry promote with the members. As expectedly, promoting with the members makes me full of life.

Q: Since you were promoting, take care of your throat seems to be more important than any other things. Are there any secret tips to taking care of your throat?

A: Eat well sleep well. That is why when we promote, I will gain weight slightly.

Q: You surprised everyone with your outstanding vocals on MBC King of Masked singer and Duet Song Festival. As such you probably have a lot of thoughts as a vocalist, what is your dream image as a singer in the future?

A: Work even harder so that my song will be a song that the whole country will know how to sing.

Q: Please tell us the 3 songs that you would recommend us the most in your current playlist.

A: Usher - No limit, Sam Smith - Lay me down, The weekend - I feel it coming.

Q: If Sandeul was to choose a good timing in life?

A: When I first got casted (by the company) and made a decision to come up to Seoul. I have never imagined myself to become like this. I just thought to come up and gain experience.

Q: Gyeongsang-do guys are very manly. But you showed a lot of aegyo while doing "Kyu Byu Chu" on broadcast. Are you like this in real life?

A: My family has a lot of aegyo in general so I think I got influenced. (laughs)

Q: Sandeul had activities from musical to solo album. You are the busiest compared to the rest of B1A4. What did 2016 mean to you?

A: For me, 2016 is a year I returned back to the heart I had in the beginning. A year of taking one step at a time calmly and filling up the lack in my life.

Q: Please tell us your goals that you wish to fulfil in 2017.

A: I wish for this year to be very busy and crazy as well. Because only when we are busy, then we will have more time to see banas. I also want to do a lot of performances. I also want to be able to come back and promote with a new B1A4 album soon.

Q: Congratulations on getting 1st place! Did you expected it?

A: Never. But we know that the fans are looking forward very much to this album and I thought will we have good results by working hard.

Q: In the album this time round, Shinwoo's song "Nightmare" gives a different feeling from the songs B1A4 has. Where did you get your inspiration from?

A: I got the inspiration from the movie, Pay back, which Mel Gipson acted in. The main character is betrayed by the lover, I thought about how would the main character feel and wrote the song. That's why I deliberately wrote the track with a reggae feel and direct lyrics. I want to continue writing this kind of challenging songs.

Q: I looked at the members and you guys all joke around a lot. If you were to rank them in sequence?

A: Jinyoung CNU Sandeul Baro Gongchan!

Q: Before we knew it, you are an idol in his 6th year. Compared to debut days, is there anything different and anything that stayed the same about the members?

A: The members definitely all became more matured. On the other hand, the close friendship that B1A4 have did not change.

Q: On on of the radio recently, you said you are a realistic person. Why did you think of yourself that way?

A: I am the kind who thinks that if I cannot be objective, then I will regress. In order to be strict with myself, I work my best to because a realistic person. However, when I think about the things that I want to go, the goals that I want to fulfil, I think I am a idealistic person. I think that it is better to dream big.

Q: Please tell us your goals that you wish to fulfil in 2017. 

A: In 2017, I want to bring better music and meet fans with a more matured image. I want to also do a lot of promotions that can show the colours that only B1A4 has.

BARO 

Q: The title for this album is Good timing. What is Baro's Good timing?

A: I think it is now. As we prepare for the album this time round, there were a lot of changes within us, and since we came back after 1 year and 3 months, there was a greater anticipation and I think that it is a good timing.

Q: Together with Jinyoung and Shinwoo, you participated a lot in the writing the songs for this album. Is there any episode that is memorable while writing songs together?

A: When we were writing our title song "A lie", the lyrics didn't came out as well and I was unhappy about it. In the meanwhile, I went to the toilet and tried writing the lyrics, and they came out all at once. It was very interesting and my mood got better. (laughs)

Q: The song that you like the most in this album?

A: Title song "A lie" and "Drunk on you". The story and music arrangement is good so I listen to them often.

Q: When I look at Baro's own clothes' fashion, I find that you have a lot of (fashion) sense. Is there an area that you will pay attention to when wearing clothes normally?

A: I usually just wear whatever that comes to my mind but if that doesn't happen, I will look at the artist that I like and get some hints from there. The most important thing would be colour matching and a sense of wearing something ordinary and not make it look ordinary.

Q: When it comes to Baro, I got reminded of the solid thighs that you have shown on variety shows. Are you still exercising?

A: I don't usually do lower body exercises. I want to lose some thigh muscles but it doesn't seems to be losing. (laughs)

Q: Up till now, your acting skills has been acknowledged through dramas. You said you wanted to act as a villain, what is the reason and from the dramas and movies you have watched, who is the more charming villain you have seen?

A: I like Hwang Jeong Min and Lee Byeong Heon acting the best. I find the recently movies Asura - City of Madness and Inside Men the most interesting. I want to act as a villain in a noir movie.

Q: Please tell us your goals that you wish to fulfil in 2017.  

A: Be it in the area of music or fashion, I want them to be more acknowledged by the public. I will work harder to show a better image.

GONGCHAN

Q: Is there any interesting episode that happened while promoting together with the members recently?

A: Recently all the members came to my house to play. It has been a while since we gathered like this but it was not awkward at all and it felt natural like how when we were still staying in the dormitory. It was happy and lively. The part that we did our own things the moment we entered the house, feels like nothing has changed.

Q: As the youngest in the team, what does the existence of the older brothers mean to you? On the other hand, what kind of younger brother do you want to be?

A: They are like oxygen. I definitely need them to survive. They always become my strength no matter where I go and they are people whom I always think about. I cannot do without them. I want to be like a charger to the older brothers. When they feel faint or are going through a difficult time, I want to become their energy and reenergize them. The older brothers are always making me laugh and giving me happiness, the team's atmosphere is always up! (laughs)

Q: If you were to choose a good timing in your life?

A: To debut with B1A4. I am really happy to meet fans like Banas. They are my greatest strength and they are the greatest driving force that makes me move. No, to me they are more than that. (laughs)

Q: You are B1A4's representative ulzzang. Do you exercise separately?

A: Now we are promoting so there isn't time. But when we are preparing to comeback, I exercise with my personal trainer.

Q: You seems to communicate directly with fans on SNS like Twitter, Instagram etc. You also use the fanarts that the fans drew. Do you find it fun to communicate with them?

A: I communicate with fans whenever I miss them. Since I can't see their faces, I go onto SNS to talk and play with them. It is really fun to talk to them and I gain strength from it.

Q: I heard that you had a lot of popularity when you were a student. Do you have any memorable episodes?

A: Actually that is a groundless fact. I was really quiet and my friends and I are students that likes games. (laughs) It feels like as if we go to work at the PC room everyday.

Q: Please tell us your goals that you wish to fulfil in 2017.  

A: I hope that the things that I do will go well. Don;t get injured and always staying healthy. Steadily work hard in preparing so that I can show fans and the public a more charming image.

A: My habit nowadays is to memorise the names of the shop as I walk on the road. This is because I have bad sense of directions. I am trying my best!

A: Soju 2 bottles...? However, I haven't been drinking much these days so I am not very sure. I think I can't drink well now.

A: Drinking at home comfortably and then falling asleep..?
