161028 Jinyoung Love in the moonlight Interviews (Part 5)

"In the end, my experiences as minor roles helped me a lot".

Before debut, Jinyoung did minor roles in a lot of productions to grow his dream as an actor. Fans searched for Jinyoung's past minor roles and gave him a nickname called "Jung-minor-roles". For Acting idols who debuted as idols, he is slightly different from the rest due to his start as an actor.

"Before debut, I often go back and often to Seoul on my own. I want to act but I have no idea how to so whenever it comes to the weekends, I would head to Seoul without plans, to do auditions, attend acting school, and start talking minor roles.".

"Even though they are minor roles that just walk past like that, it was fun. The entire filming site was interesting, it was fun and I was happy. I thought, it is something that I want to continue doing. As time goes by, now that I get to act in such a good role,  I thought back a lot about those times."

He also mentioned "Those were the days..." I thought that it was good I had many of those experiences in the past. As I did a lot of minor roles, I got used to looking at the camera correctly, got familiar with the shooting site. It is good that I have those experiences and I think that those helped a lot."

Jinyoung also explained that he feel that being a hot topic together with the rest of Love in the Moonlight cast feels like a dream. 

"It feels like a dream. Even after the drama ended, I still find it amazing. 'Did I really acted in this drama' such feelings. I shot Love in the Moonlight, the show became a hot issue. I acted together with the rest in the show but I ask myself "I acted in that show, right.". I often have such thoughts. I find it amazing that I often see this on TV but now I am part of the drama now". 

Now as a beginner, there are a lot of things that he would like to try. "I want to do a romance comedy, I also want to try a war movie. Even though it may be tiring when filming but I will feel proud after filming. When I watch a movie or fantasy stuffs, I also thought 'How nice would it be if I can be part of it'. I have a thing for eras that I cannot live in. That is why I like a period drama this time round. Even though modern drama has its charm, I can relate to it, and I might have done things in the drama before. But period drama is in an era that I have not lived in. It is like a fantasy. I think I like such stuffs."

Q: It is your first time taking on a period drama. How was it?

A: There are clothes that I wore for the first time, speech that I used for the first time, so I was nervous. The Director and scriptwriter helped me along. Along the way, I let go of the nervousness and was able to do it comfortably. After it ended, I was able to feel the charm of period drama. It was fun, Kim Yoonseong that character also left an impression. It felt like as if I went into a fantasy world and came out. It still left an impression on me.

Q: If you were to comment your acting in this production, what would it be?

A: Even though the public are enjoying it, I am monitoring my acting cold-heartedly. From what I see, there are things that I need to do more, and there are lots of things that I need to fix too. This drama has given me a lot of experiences. As I will do even more productions in the future, it will be of great help.

Q: You are going back and forth between a singer and an actor. How is the life of an actor?

A: It feels like I am living a life that I can't live. I am living my life but no matter how my life goes, it will only go like that. To be able to live a life that I cannot live as, it feels good. I am a curious person. Instead of my life, I am able to have a feel of how to live as the other person indirectly through drama. To try living Kim Yoonseong's life, I thought, there is such a kid who has such a difficult life, music also helped a lot.

Q: How was the response of B1A4's members?

A: They copy and follow my script. They were making a joke out of it but I was thankful. It means they are giving me care and it is not something that I should get angry about. As they called "Master Yoonseong", they also gave me a lot of praises. Sandeul and Gongchan especially copied the script the most. (laughs)

Q: Your pose on the press conference for the show became a topic on the online community and its being named as "Professional idol pose".

A: I am doing what I always do so I didn't know it will become a topic. I gave hearts and shooting actions but after I went back to see (the pictures) again, I realised I was the only one doing it. (laughs) The title of the post uploaded was named "The difference between actor and idols". I don't think its a bad thing. Since it was a chance to see the fans close up, I thought I should give a lot of fan service.

Q: What do you think of the stereotype of Idol actors?

A: I feel that it is of course people will think that way. There is no choice that the people will think of idols like that. I feel that it is something that I have to work hard for to show a different side. It is also not exactly a bad thought that people think that idols can do it. Of course there will be stereotype, I think that it is our work to break the stereotype.

Q: There is a family book for Idol actors too isn't it? Is there any senior you wish to be like?

A: Senior Top. His gaze and charisma is awesome. There are many things you do using your gaze. His acting is already good but I think it is good to be overwhelming with such gaze too. I thought he looks very cool as I watch it.

Q: Are you rival with Park Bogum outside of the show?

A: Even though we are rivals in the drama, in real life, I ask for advises from Park Bogum. He did a lot of acting and there are a lot of things which I can learn from. There are a lot of things that I need to learn so I think that there is no need for me to be egoistic. I am grateful that Bogum speaks to me confidently.

Q: During Park Bogum's interview, he said he received help from you on the music area.

A: Park Bogum likes music and he has been playing piano for a long time. When we rest during filming, we talk a lot about music. We also talk about wanting to write a song. There's an application that I use for writing music, I told him about it and he liked it. Seeing him play makes me feel that his sense of music is good, is he also talented in making melody. When I saw it, I thought, "This guy can be a song writer". When I told Bogum about it, he told me he should try it.

Q: How do you feel if Bogum participates in B1A4's album?

A: We also talked about that. To get him to do a piano session for us. I think it would be meaningful to participate as a piano session.

Q: In the show, Kim Byeongyeon had a few slashes but still survived, but Kim Yoonseong died easily. Don't you find it a pity?

A: I don't think that dying is a bad thing. There is no desires in Yoonseong's life. He lived for one woman only. In the end, he gave up his government power, go against his grandfather, gave up everything. The final end, he protected the woman he lived and died. To Yoonseong, he did what he needs to do and died, so I thought he did a good job.

Q: If that is the case, rather than Yoonseong, will Jinyoung die for his love?

A: I will have to live (laughs). I will try to live. Only when I live then I can see the one I love. Kim Yoonseong's dying is in the drama so it is possible. I want to continue loving and I want to continue seeing the person I love.

Q: If you were to choose a famous line from the script?

A: If I am looking at the entire the drama, it was when Lee Young told Kim Heon "give a toast to the king" it was satisfying. Even though in the drama, Kim Heon was my grandfather, but that was still satisfying. If I'm looking at my own lines, it would be the lines I said when I kept looking for Raon and helping her. "Cry for all you want. I will not have any delusion." That scene was really sad.

Q: One of the most famous scene was the lanterns scene. If it was Jinyoung who flew the lanterns, what would you wish for?

A: A simple one. I will wish to be live happier. If I am happy, it seems like everything will come. When I say happily, it includes everything in life, so I will want to wish for myself to live happily.

Q: There is only 2 months left for 2016. If you were to look back this year and tell yourself something.

A: Are you ready for 2017?
